Since the mutability of HeapNumbers is determined by their owning object's descriptor array, we can remove the MutableHeapNumber type entirely, at the cost of a few fewer DCHECKs and a couple of TODOs to use the descriptor array information. Create a new function NewHeapNumberForCodeAssembler used only by CodeAssembler that allocates in read_only_space whenever it is writable (e.g. when constructing builtins). This can allocate in old_space for CSA tests that run after read_only_space is sealed. This move 512 bytes from old_space to read_only_space. Create canonical ScopeInfos for the global this binding and empty function in the read only space, rather than creating them during bootstrapping for each native context. This saves some memory, and also means we don't need to access the native context to get the global this binding in when deserializing a scope info, which is important since parsing should be native context independent. Previously, this was run as a microtask and this CL changes it to run as a separate task as mandated by the current WeakRef spec. This CL also introduces a FinalizationGroup type to the V8 API representing the JSFinalizationGroup. This has a `Cleanup` function that runs the cleanup callback associated with it. SetHostCleanupFinalizationGroupCallback is added to set the embedder defined HostCleanupFinalizationGroupCallback. ClearKeptObject is exposed on the v8::Isolate to reset the strongly held set of objects. The general workflow is the following: (a) When the GC notices that a given finalization group has dirty cells, it calls HostCleanupFinalizationGroupCallback with the given finalization group. (b) As part of HostCleanupFinalizationGroupCallback, the embedder enqueues a task that at some point later calls FinalizationGroup::Cleanup. (c) At some point in the future, FinalizationGroup::Cleanup is called, which runs the cleanup callback of the finalization group. This patch also includes d8 changes to use these new APIs. Currently, d8 cycles through the enqueued finalization groups after a synchronous turn (and it's microtask checkpoint) and runs the cleanup callbacks. Calling FindIndexInScript performs a linear search on the script functions and can take considerable time. With Bytecode flushing we will lose the function_literal_id and have to call FindIndexInScript if we ever recompile the flushed function. This can take a significant proportion of the recompilation time and has caused regressions in rendering times for some web applications (e.g, 395ms in FindIndexInScript for 132ms spent lazily re-compiling code). To avoid this, add function_literal_id back into the SFI and remove it from UnoptimizedCompileInfo. This will slightly regress memory usage (particularly in cases where many of the SFIs are compiled), however it means we can remove the FindIndexInScript function and avoid these long-tail regressions when bytecode is flushed. This change removes the special case in the Torque compiler for types that descend from JSObject: they will no longer get implicit "| Undefined" appended to their types for verification purposes. It removes any additional custom verification steps in objects-debug that are made redundant by that change. In order to do so safely, I categorized all cases where we were implicitly adding "| Undefined" to the field type, as follows: 1. Classes that aren't using the generated verifier function (we should probably revisit these, but for now we at least know they're safe): - JSGlobalObject - JSFinalizationGroup - JSFinalizationGroupCleanupIterator 2. Classes where the existing verifier is already at least as strict as what we would get after removing the implicit "| Undefined": - JSDate - JSPromise - JSRegExp - JSRegExpStringIterator - WasmMemoryObject - JSWeakRef - JSStringIterator - WasmExceptionObject - JSListFormat (fixed in part 1) - JSPluralRules (fixed in part 1) - JSRelativeTimeFormat (fixed in part 1) - JSSegmenter (fixed in part 1) - JSArrayBufferView (fixed in part 1) - JSTypedArray (fixed in part 1) 3. This change adjusts object initialization order for a few classes so that the GC can never see those objects in an invalid, partially- initialized state. AccessorInfo: Just zeros out a few fields upon construction. This is the simplest case. FunctionTemplateInfo: Slightly changes the order in which fields are set, so that the Smi field is set ahead of the call to SetCallHandler, which can GC. Also a pretty simple case. JSListFormat, JSPluralRules, JSRelativeTimeFormat, JSSegmenter: The spec requires that we start with OrdinaryCreateFromConstructor, which has observable side effects (it fetches the prototype from the new.target). So we split JSObject::New in half: the first half does all of the user- visible things and returns a Map, which we can pass to the second half when we're ready to actually allocate the object. JSTypedArray: Extends the pattern from JSListFormat into Torque code: start with a Map and don't allocate the object until we're ready to set all of its properties. This CL adds the last fields needed to stringify all stack frames from StackFrameInfo objects instead of accessing the FrameArray directly. Drive-by-change: The factory method that creates StackFrameInfo is refactored to: 1. collect all values for the fields 2. allocate a StackFrameInfo 3. set all the values on the allocated info object. This fixes undefined evaluation order bugs that GCMole failed to spot, as well as make one factory method unnecessary. As the next step in supporting huge typed arrays in V8, this moves the external/data pointer from the FixedTypedArrayBase backing store to the JSTypedArray instance itself, and replaces the special backing stores with a plain ByteArray (removing all the code for the FixedTypedArrayBase class hierarchy). By doing so, we can drastically simplify the system around typed arrays. Note: Several places in the code base used to check the instance type of the elements backing store of a JSTypedArray instead of checking the elements kind on the JSTypedArray map directly. Inputs to JSON can be two-byte because payload strings can contain two-byte characters, without actually having any one-byte property key. Rather than eagerly converting the string to one-byte, we can perform a string-table lookup with a two-byte string key; only converting the result to one-byte if it's a new key. This speeds up json parsing of two-byte json from the Youtube benchmark by 20%.
