      [cleanup] Remove Isolate parameter from object print · 13b899a5
      Leszek Swirski authored
      With ReadOnlyRoots and GetIsolate on JSReceiver, we can remove almost
      every isolate parameter from <Object>::Print. The remaining ones, like
      Map, are special-caseable for read-only maps, and as a result we can
      remove isolate parameters from <Object>::Print entirely.

      This patch also opportunistically cleans up a few places where isolates
      were only needed for Object::Print, such as TransitionAccessors and
      DescriptorArrays.

      Drop stack-locals from ScopeInfo · 467eb149
      Toon Verwaest authored
      For now we keep params since NewSloppyArguments uses it to figure out how to structure the arguments object. We should be able to only keep params in case we have a special case though. E.g., leaf functions with no duplicate parameters don't need special treatment. Or we simply encode the parameter index for each context slot. (I'm not sure duplicates need special treatment.)

      [ubsan] Change Address typedef to uintptr_t · 2459046c
      Jakob Kummerow authored
      The "Address" type is V8's general-purpose type for manipulating memory
      addresses. Per the C++ spec, pointer arithmetic and pointer comparisons
      are undefined behavior except within the same array; since we generally
      don't operate within a C++ array, our general-purpose type shouldn't be
      a pointer type.

      Rename Code::instruction_{start,end,size} functions · 7b29fe43
      jgruber authored
      In order to clarify the difference between, e.g., InstructionStart and
      instruction_start, rename as follows:

      Code::instruction_start -> raw_instruction_start
      Code::instruction_end   -> raw_instruction_end
      Code::instruction_size  -> raw_instruction_size

      The difference between the camel-case and raw_* function families is
      in how they handle off-heap-trampoline Code objects. For example, when
      called on an off-heap-trampoline: raw_instruction_start returns the
      trampoline's entry point, while InstructionStart returns the off-heap
      code's entry point (located in the .text section of the binary).

      Some callsites were updated to call the camel-case function family as
      appropriate.

      Normalize casing of hexadecimal digits · 822be9b2
      Mathias Bynens authored
      This patch normalizes the casing of hexadecimal digits in escape
      sequences of the form `\xNN` and integer literals of the form
      `0xNNNN`.

      Previously, the V8 code base used an inconsistent mixture of uppercase
      and lowercase.

      Google’s C++ style guide uses uppercase in its examples:
      https://google.github.io/styleguide/cppguide.html#Non-ASCII_Characters

      Moreover, uppercase letters more clearly stand out from the lowercase
      `x` (or `u`) characters at the start, as well as lowercase letters
      elsewhere in strings.

      [base] Template MatchFun in TemplateHashMapImpl · 837c91e8
      leszeks authored
      Make MatchFun a template parameter in TemplateHashMapImpl, moving the
      PointersMatch function down to an implementation which extends
      TemplateHashMapImpl to void* key and value (i.e. the same as the current
      HashMap and ZoneHashMap typedefs).

      This will allow other instantiations of TemplateHashMapImpl, with
      different MatchFun values, e.g. std::equal_to, to have their key
      equality test inlined, rather than calling a function pointer,

      Remove inline header includes from non-inline headers (1). · 00a07bc1
      mstarzinger authored
      This tries to remove includes of "-inl.h" headers from normal ".h"
      headers, thereby reducing the chance of any cyclic dependencies and
      decreasing the average size of our compilation units.

      Note that this change still leaves 7 violations of that rule in the
      code. However there now is the "tools/check-inline-includes.sh" tool
      detecting such violations.
