This CL adds functionality to read the source positions directly from the JS heap rather than from serialized data. In order to do this, we create a PersistentHandles container in the OptimizedCompilationInfo which gets passed onto the JSHeapBroker. This allows us to create the handles in the main thread and pass them safely to the background thread. In order to read safely from the background thread, we need a LocalHeap which blocks the GC from running and potentially moving the handles. This LocalHeap is created only when the JSHeapBroker has finalized serializing and destroyed when retiring it. This CL is pretty mechanical; I just iterated through some Torque classes making the following changes: - Use @generateCppClass if it seems easy to - Use @generatePrint if the existing printer doesn't do anything special - Fix up any imprecise field types It also includes two minor changes to implementation-visitor: - Add a new -inl.h file with the things needed for torque-generated/class-definitions-tq.cc so we don't need to keep changing the compiler when we add @generateCppClass. - Avoid emitting incorrect accessors for ExternalPointers. This isn't strictly necessary for correctness, as the accessors defined in C++ already hide the ones inherited from generated code, but it makes me feel safer. This is a reland of c7c47c68. This makes TSAN happy in addition to: Previously I presumed that the context read from a frame in the profiler was a valid context. Turns out that on non-intel we're not guaranteed that the frame is properly set up. In the case we looked at, the profiler took a sample right before writing the frame marker indicating a builtin frame, causing the "context" pointer from that frame to be a bytecode array. Since we'll read random garbage on the stack as a possible context pointer, I made the code reading the native context from it a little more defensive. This adds a simple counter to Turbofan that's incremented throughout the compilation, hopefully frequently enough so we can use it to detect divergence and performance bugs. In addition, we assert that this counter never gets too high. That's the equivalent of a simple timeout, just more deterministic. The limitations on Turbofan input size should guarantee that we never exceed this limit. Since we probably do exceed it rarely, this check is only a DCHECK and intended to detect performance and divergence issues, but not supposed to be performed in release builds. In addition, this CL adds UMA stats to observe the real world distribution of the tick measurement. GraphBuilderTester was introduced at a time where RawMachineAssembler was going to be deprecated (https://codereview.chromium.org/1423923003/). Now we know that it's not going to happen any time soon. Since GraphBuilderTester it's only used in one test which can use RawMachineAssembler, I updated it and removed the class. Now the .h file had another class, which is now the only class in the file. Therefore, I renamed it and updated the include calls to it. Also updated the include commands: some were not necessary, and some others could be moved to more aptly places. We'll soon start collecting data from the JS heap prior to the typed lowering pass, and then refrain from reading the heap in that pass. This CL prepares the broker machinery by introducing a hash table that maps an object (handle) to the corresponding cached data. For the time being, that cached data is essentially just the handle itself. There are likely cleanups that can be done after this CL: - context-related functions in the interpreter and compiler take ScopeInfo as well as ScopeType and slot-count as input. The latter 2 should be directly derived from the former. We should be able to drop FunctionContextParameters. - ContextExtension is probably not needed anymore, since we now always have the correct scope_info directly in the SCOPE_INFO_INDEX slot. There is no good reason to have the meat of most objects' initialization logic in heap.cc, all wrapped by the CALL_HEAP_FUNCTION macro. Instead, this CL changes the protocol between Heap and Factory to be AllocateRaw, and all object initialization work after (possibly retried) successful raw allocation happens in the Factory. This saves about 20KB of binary size on x64. 1. Generalize context specialization such that the provided context can be any outer context of the function, not necessarily the immediate outer context. 2. Based on this: if function specialization is disabled, then specialize for the module context if there is one. 3. Extend typed lowering of module loads and stores such that if the operand is a Module constant, we constant-fold the cell load. That is, a JSLoadModule with a Module HeapConstant input becomes a LoadField with a Cell HeapConstant input, and similarly for JSStoreModule. With this CL, context loads and stores are "strengthened" by reducing the incoming context chain and decreasing the depth accordingly, whenever possible. This enables more opportunities for specialization and will let us easily add module context specialization later.
