The code fields in a JSRegExp object now either contain irregexp compiled code or a trampoline to the interpreter. This way the code can be executed without explicitly checking if the regexp shall be interpreted or executed natively. In case of interpreted regexp the generated bytecode is now stored in its own fields instead of the code fields for Latin1 and UC16 respectively. The signatures of the jitted irregexp match and the regexp interpreter have been equalized. This adds decoding and compilation of the "atomic.fence" operator, which is intended to preserve the synchronization guarantees of higher-level languages. Unlike other atomic operators, it does not target a particular linear memory. It may occur in modules which declare no memory, or a non-shared memory, without causing a validation error. {Assembler::Nop} currently fails if {n} is bigger than {kGap} (the destructor of {EnsureSpace} checks that not more than {kGap} bytes have been emitted). This CL fixes this by repeatedly using {EnsureSpace}, and also optimizes the implementation of {Assembler::Nop} a bit. It also removes stray cases for 10 and 11 nop bytes which have been added in https://crrev.com/8773039 without further comment, and are not documented in the Intel manual. The object itself is already decompressed, and we're simply re-decompressing by nuking the upper bits through sign extension. Additionally this CL changes the branchless decompression sequence on x64 to be cmov-based since that's shorter and faster. It's still slower than branchful though, so we likely won't use it. For float to int conversions and vice versa the MacroAssembler on x64 was using a mix of AVX and non-AVX instructions. This CL fixes that to consistently use AVX if available. v8memory.h does not have V8 specific definitions, and having it in base makes it clear that every component may include the file. It also ensures that including it does not create spurious dependencies on v8_base. This changes Generate_ContinueToBuiltinHelper to generate code to load the builtin address directly from the builtins table rather than going via the executable code in the trampoline's code object. The set up for Generate_ContinueToBuiltinHelper is changed so that the builtin index is stored on the stack in place of the builtin Code object which is no longer needed. Since TurboAssembler::CallBuiltinPointer actually takes the builtin_index as input, rename the function to CallBuiltinByIndex. Previously, the handle's location was used as a proxy for the heap object, i.e, we put the handle into the constant pool, to avoid the need for GC visiting the constant pool entries during code generation. The handle locations are replaced by the corresponding heap object when the code is copied to the heap. This CL changes the handling in the assembler: Instead of putting in the handle location (which is a machine word) we put in a small index number into a table. This will be useful for putting 32bit constants into the constant pool. This new approach also has the advantage that ordering the constant pool entries by value produces a deterministic order after this change.
