This replaces InNewSpace with InYoungGeneration, which is a prerequisite for young large objects. Additional changes: - FROM_SPACE, TO_SPACE flags are renamed to FROM_PAGE, TO_PAGE. - A new LARGE_PAGE flag is added. - The external string table is refactored to track young string instead of new space strings. Other platforms besides ARM64 Windows may also have alignment requirements, e.g. PPC and s390. These requirements may affect both the code pointer field and the size field, and so they each need alignment directives because they are stored in different sections. Since aligning wastes a handful of bytes at most, not making alignment conditional on the platform type seems like a good idea. Code object iteration was missing logic for RELATIVE_CODE_TARGET reloc entries. Garbage collection could thus miss objects that were referenced only as targets of pc-relative calls or jumps. RELATIVE_CODE_TARGETs are only used on arm, mips, and s390 and only at mksnapshot-time. This exposed another issue in that the interpreter entry trampoline copy we generate for profiling *did* contain relative calls in runtime-accessible code. This is a problem, since code space on arm is, by default, too large to be fully addressable through pc-relative calls. This CL thus also disables the related FLAG_interpreted_frames_native_stack feature on arm. Drive-by: Ensure the builtins constants table does not contain Code objects. Now, the CodeAssembler can annotate Nodes with SourcePositions. SourcePositions themselves get a new mode "external," in which they get a file_id, line and column. The file_id is currently maintained in the isolate, mapping to strings for filenames. Additionally, inlining information is ignored at this point, but in the long run I'd like to recognize calls to different CSA functions as manual inlinings. At this point, if you want to see the results in tools like GDB, you'll need to build without clang, and use the GCC toolchain. GN flag is_clang=false will do the trick. When building v8 using MSVC (as for Node.js), clang-cl is not available to act as an assembler. This change allows mksnapshot to accomodate this fact by emitting assembly in the MSVC ARM assembler's format. Incidentally, the MSVC ARM asm format is just the ARM, Holdings assembler's asm format with a small handful of unimplemented features. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/assembler/arm/arm-assembler-reference Bug: chromium:893460,v8:8645 Change-Id: I1a6b765b0f9b4d117d7a6f100015a4f124442865 Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/1394758 Commit-Queue: Jakob Gruber <jgruber@chromium.org> Reviewed-by:

Port ccc068d5 Original Commit Message: This CL does two things: 1. It introduces Call/JumpCodeObject as the bottleneck for all calls to non-heap-constant Code objects; and 2. it dispatches directly to the off-heap entry point for all embedded code. Codegen at runtime remains unchanged to preserve the shorter, branch-less calling sequence. Now a descriptor array tracks the number of descriptors that were already marked. The marking visitor of a map only marks the subset of the descriptors that it needs and that are not already marked. If a descriptor array is shared between M maps and has N descriptos, then the number of marking operations is reduced from O(M*N) to O(N). This patch also adds a marking barrier for descriptors. The marked descriptor counter in a descriptor array is not cleared after mark-compact GC. Instead, it embeds two bits from the global mark-compact epoch counter and is considered 0 if the bits do not match the current value of the global epoch counter. This CL moves variables that control MicrotaskQueue to MtQ itself. Namely, * is_running_microtasks_ and microtask_completed_callbacks_ from v8::internal::Isolate * microtasks_depth_, microtasks_suppressions_ and debug_microtask_depth_ from v8::internal::HandleScopeImplementer. As the current implementation has these variables one per-Isolate rather than per-MicrotaskQueue, this is needed to have multiple MicrotaskQueues for an Isolate. This is purely a renaming change. The ES spec uses the term 'detach' for the process of removing the backing store of a typed array, while V8 uses the historical term 'neuter'. Update our internal implementation, including method names and flag names, to match the spec. Note that some error messages still use the term 'neuter' since error messages are asserted by some embedder tests, like layout tests. We no longer implement part of the debugger in JS. Therefore we can remove the infrastructure to support this in the bootstrapper. Also includes some drive-by cleanups.
