Torque-generated relaxed/acquire/release accessors now expect an additional Tag argument to be more consistent with handwritten accessors. Torque's annotations are renamed from @relaxedRead, @relaxedWrite, @acquireRead and @releaseWrite to @cppRelaxedLoad, @cppRelaxedStore, @cppAcquireLoad and @cppReleaseStore, repesectively. This renaming shall better reflect the fact that those annotations just generate corresponding synchronization on the generated C++ accessors (not CSA code) and be more consistent with the C++ side of things where "Load" and "Store" is used instead of "Read" and "Write". This CL uses these new annotations on a few fields in DebugInfo and FunctionTemplateInfo to have Torque generate accessors automatically. This CL implements https://github.com/tc39/proposal-top-level-await/pull/159, which reached consensus at the March 2021 TC39. The high-level intent is for parent modules that depend on async modules to remember the DFS post-order such that when their async dependency finishes, they execute in that original post-order. This aligns the ordering between completely sync module graphs and async module graphs. With top-level await, when Evaluate is performed on an already-evaluated synthetic module, Module::InnerEvaluate returns undefined. This breaks top-level await's assumption that the returned value is always a promise. In order to make SyntheticModule's behavior consistent with SourceTextModule, the top_level_capability field is moved up to Module and SyntheticModule::Evaluate places the promise returned from the host's evaluation steps in that field. Now SourceTextModule and SyntheticModule can share the same code to handle the case where the module is either kErrored or kEvaluated, so the code for this is moved up to Module. Thus, SyntheticModule is now guaranteed to return the promise from the evaluation steps even on subsequent Evaluate() calls. Unfortunately Node hasn't yet updated their EvaluationStepsCallback to return a Promise, so we can't yet assume that the returned value is a Promise without breaking Node. So, this change also adds a clause to check for this condition and create a new resolved Promise if one was not provided by the callback steps. This could eventually be removed once Node's callback steps are updated for top-level await. This change completes the necessary API changes for import assertions discussed in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yuXgNHSbTAPubT1Mg0JXp5uTrfirkvO1g5cHHCe-LmY. The old ResolveCallback is deprecated and replaced with a ResolveModuleCallback that includes import assertions. Until ResolveCallback is removed, InstantiateModule and associated functions are modified to accept both types of callback, using the new one if it was supplied and the old one otherwise. An alternative that I chose not to go with would be to just duplicate InstantiateModule and associated functions for both callback types. SyntheticModule::PrepareInstantiate's callback parameter was unused so I removed it. Because of LocalHeap safepoints, our existing assert scopes don't necessarily maintain the same guarantees as desired. In particular, DisallowHeapAllocation no longer guarantees that objects don't move. This patch transitions DisallowHeapAllocation to DisallowGarbageCollection, to ensure that code using this scope is also protected against safepoints. By keeping the SharedFunctionInfo around for modules with the kErrored status, we don't need the additional script field anymore. The script can thus be always accessed indirectly through the code object. Removing the script field fixes context serialization of modules. This change plumbs import assertions from SourceTextModuleDescriptor's ModuleRequestMap into SourceTextModuleInfo via a new ModuleRequest type, where previously there had been only the specifier. SourceTextModuleDescriptor::module_map now deduplicates module requests using the specifier and the import assertions. Continuing to use the specifier alone would cause a loss of information in the event that a module imports from the same specifier multiple times using different sets of assertions. Failing to deduplicate at all would result in multiple requests for statements like `import {a,b,c} from "foo.js"`, which would be a potential performance issue. See design doc at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yuXgNHSbTAPubT1Mg0JXp5uTrfirkvO1g5cHHCe-LmY for more detail on this decision. v8::internal::ModuleRequest holds the assertions as an array of the form [key1, value1, position1, key2, value2, assertion2, ...]. However the parser still needs to use a map, since duplicate assertion keys need to be detected at parse time. A follow-up change will ensure that assertions are sorted using a proper lexicographic sort. This changes how we setup modules from being entirely bytecode based to a single fixed array with metadata that's passed into a runtime function DeclareModuleExports, similar to DeclareGlobals. This is preperatory work to replace the bytecode that calls those functions with explicit calls before we even start running the code. In the case of modules that will obviate the need for modules to be generators. Implements AsyncModules in SourceTextModule. However, there is no support in the parser or D8 for actually creating / resolving AsyncModules. Also adds a flag '--top-level-await,' but the only external facing change with the flag enabled is that Module::Evaluate returns a promise. This patch is mostly mechanical. A few changes in implementation-visitor.cc might be worth mentioning: - Don't generate both field offset macros and class definitions for the same class. This was mostly just to keep me from forgetting to remove the DEFINE_FIELD_OFFSET_CONSTANTS part when converting classes, but also helpfully flagged that FixedArrayBase wasn't using the generated class that it requested. - Generate forward declarations for all tq-defined classes in internal-class-definitions-tq.h. This is helpful for making things compile when classes have fields of other class types. - When generating accessors for union types, use the nearest class type that contains the entire union rather than plain Object. This is important for compile-time type safety. It also required a few minor fixes elsewhere (isolate.cc, modules.cc, scope-info.cc, source-text-module.cc, and a correction of the field types in CallHandlerInfo to match how they're set in api.cc). ResolveExport and Evaluate are the final unimplemented SyntheticModule methods; with this change the implementation is complete. Test-api unit tests are also provided. This change is a partial implementation of Synthetic Module Record as specified here: https://heycam.github.io/webidl/#synthetic-module-records This includes: - Introduce SyntheticModule class inheriting from Module. - Extend v8::Module interface in v8.h to include Synthetic Module APIs, with corresponding implementations in api.cc. - Provide SyntheticModule implementations of PrepareInstantiate, FinishInstantiate, and SetExport. - Provide cctest unit tests for the implementations in the preceding item. We will follow up with further submissions to implement the remaining members of SyntheticModule (ResolveExport and Evaluate). Introduce SourceTextModule as a subclass of Module. Move all the JavaScript-module-specific code down from Module to SourceTextModule, with all code applicable to other future module types remaining in Module. With this change, Module is roughly equivalent to the spec's Abstract Module Record and SourceTextModule is roughly equivalent to Source Text Module Record. This CL was generated by an automatic clang AST rewriter using this matcher expression: callExpr( callee( cxxMethodDecl( hasName("operator->"), ofClass(isSameOrDerivedFrom("v8::internal::Object")) ) ), argumentCountIs(1) ) The "->" at the expression location was then rewritten to ".".
