Scopes in V8 are used to guarantee one or more properties during its lifetimes. If a scope is not named e.g MyClassScope(args) instead of MyClassScope scope(args) it will get created and automatically destroyed and therefore, being useless as a scope. This CL would produce a compiling warning when that happens to ward off this developer error. Follow-up to ccrev.com/2552415 in which it was introduced and implemented for Guard classes. After support for ARCH_PPC was dropped, it became a subset of ARCH_PPC64. If you compile for ppc64, then you set the ARCH_PPC64 define which also sets the ARCH_PPC define. To be able to again support ppc (32 bit) those defines should be split up again. This commit only splits up the defines but does not introduce a working ARCH_PPC variant. Cpplint usually checks for non-const reference arguments. They are forbidden in the style guide, and v8 does not explicitly make an exception here. This CL re-enables that warning, and fixes all current violations by adding an explicit "NOLINT(runtime/references)" comment. In follow-up CLs, we should aim to remove as many of them as possible. This CL deduplicates entries in constant pools based on handle location. This works well because we already use CanonicalHandleScope in the right places. The CL gives a ~2% speed-up on octane for arm64. The code size is reduced significantly as well: Before the change all generated code spend on constant pools during an Octane run on arm64 was 723kb (90398 64bit words) before this change, and after this change only spend 189kb (23615 64bit words) were spend on constant pools. This is a 73.8% reduction. This refactors the constant pool handling for arm64. The immediate goal is to allow 32bit compressed pointers in the pool. The mediate goal is to unify the implementation with the arm constant pool, which will be done in a follow-up CL. When a failing compilation occur, constant pool may not be emitted but linked (at the starting of code sequence). When CodeGenerator destructor is called, Assembler, ConstantPoolBuilder destructor are also called, which lead to calling the destructor of the emitted_label_, and then DCHECK fails because it's linked.
