This is a reland of 6204768b The original issue exposed the problem that NumberEqual performs implicit conversion of oddballs to numbers, which is incorrect for abstract equality comparison (i.e. 0 == null must not be true). This reland fixes this by applying the following steps: * Introduced a new kNumberOrBoolean value for CompareOperationFeedback, CompareOperationHint, TypeCheckKind and CheckedTaggedInputMode. * In CodeStubAssembler::Equal: Further distinguish between boolean and non-boolean oddballs and set feedback accoringly. * In JSTypedLowering: Construct [Speculative]NumberEqual operator with CompareOperationHint::kNumberOrBoolean, when this feedback is present. JSOperatorBuilder and operator cache are extended accordingly. * In SimplifiedLowering: Propagate a UseInfo with new TypeCheckKind::kNumberOrBoolean. * This leads to the generation of CheckedTaggedToFloat64 in RepresentationChanger with new CheckedTaggedInputMode::kNumberOrBoolean. * In EffectControlLinearizer: Handle this new mode. Accept and convert number and boolean and deopt for rest. This replaces VisitMode with a set of option flags that allow skipping specific roots like unserializable, weak, global handles, etc. The advantage is that it is no longer coupled with the callers and does not know about different types of GCs and their phases. The CL is pure refactoring without behavior changes except for the heap verification where more roots are verified that before. The interpreter is changed to collect more specific feedback for abstract equality, especially if oddballs are involved. TurboFan is changed to construct SpeculativeNumberEqual operator instead of the generic JSEqual in many more cases. This change has shown a local speedup of a factor of 3-10, because the specific operator is way faster than calling into the generic builtin, but it also enables additional optimizations, further improving runtime performance. Work towards adding heap-allocated object support for wasm, according to the gc proposal. Changes: - Implement subtyping for reference types (ref s) and (optref s), where 's' is a struct type. This CL does *not* implement subtyping between struct and function types. Also, it does not handle i31refs and eqrefs. - Implement struct.set. - Change struct.get to accept an optref as argument, as required by the standard. - Allow locals to store objects of ref and optref types. - Add a test for struct.set and optref locals. At the moment when the static private method is unused in source code (either explicitly or through eval) but is accessed at runtime through the debugger, and there are no other potential references to the class variable in the source code otherwise, the reference to the class variable is lost here since the class variable would not be context-allocated, then we could not rebuild a proper brand check for it. For now, a ReferenceError would be thrown and the method is considered "optimized away", similar to how unused ordinary methods in closures work. Before this patch it would DCHECK when generating bytecode for the debugger instead of throwing errors. Previously, ParseInfo would create a script (with CreateScript) based on its flags, and then set its own flags based on that created script. This created a weird circular dependency for some of those flags, and sometimes we would have valid flags before script creation (main thread compile), while other times not (streaming compile). Now we set the ParseInfo flags manually and uniformly before script creation, and check that they match the created script after it has been created. Remove OffThreadHandle, HandleOrOffThreadHandle, and HandleFor, and make the OffThreadIsolate allocate "real" Handles. Rather than using the main-thread Isolate's handle scopes, these off-thread Handles are backed by a Zone, which is tied to the lifetime of the nearest OffThreadHandleScope. Eventually, we'll likely want to merge the implementation of OffThreadHandleScope and HandleScope, but currently the latter is too tightly coupled to the main thread to do so. After support for ARCH_PPC was dropped, it became a subset of ARCH_PPC64. If you compile for ppc64, then you set the ARCH_PPC64 define which also sets the ARCH_PPC define. To be able to again support ppc (32 bit) those defines should be split up again. This commit only splits up the defines but does not introduce a working ARCH_PPC variant. FunctionEntry StackChecks is one of the two cases where we generate a StackCheck bytecode. In these cases, we do stack check against the js limit (not to be confused with the real js limit). Their purpose is to be able to interrupt the running code. We can omit the FunctionEntry StackCheck by embedding its code into the InterpreterEntryTrampoline builtin. We save one bytecode per interpreted function. This change has rippling effects for optimized code, as well as the deoptimizer.
