This moves every single class/function out of include/v8.h into a separate header in include/, which v8.h then includes so that externally nothing appears to have changed. Every include of v8.h from inside v8 has been changed to a more fine-grained include. Previously inline functions defined at the bottom of v8.h would call private non-inline functions in the V8 class. Since that class is now in v8-initialization.h and is rarely included (as that would create dependency cycles), this is not possible and so those methods have been moved out of the V8 class into the namespace v8::api_internal. None of the previous files in include/ now #include v8.h, which means if embedders were relying on this transitive dependency then it will give compile failures. v8-inspector.h does depend on v8-scripts.h for the time being to ensure that Chrome continue to compile but that change will be reverted once those transitive #includes in chrome are changed to include it directly. The field is immutable after initialization and thus should be set non-atomically on the main thread, and read non-atomically on the background thread. But TSAN support for generated code turns all field accesses into relaxed atomic accesses, leading to this race detection. Silence it by making the read relaxed as well. Reads from the compiler thread require either 1. the last write to happen before the compiler thread starts, or 2. acquire-release semantics. For simplicity, this CL converts all NativeContext field writes to be acq-rel. With the usual exception of writes from generated code (these are limited for NativeContexts though). The situation of context sets/gets is still somewhat complex: - Context::get/set are relaxed (but don't use the corresponding tag) - Context::get(.., kAcquireLoad) and Context::set(.., kReleaseStore) are acquire-release. - Context::set_foo (defined for all native context fields) uses kReleaseStore underneath. - Context::get_foo (defined for all native context fields) uses the default relaxed getter. The get_foo(kAcquireLoad) variant uses the acquire getter. - NativeContext hides the default relaxed setter since all NativeContext sets should be acq-rel. Ideally (future work), this should be simplified and made more explicit. For example, get/set_foo could move to the NativeContext class, and we could reevaluate whether we really need both relaxed and acq-rel semantics (the pairing non-atomic/acq-rel feels more natural lets tsan find concurrency issues). This change adds support for `const` redeclaration on REPL mode with the semantincs recommended in the design doc: 1) REPL scripts should not be able to reassign bindings to `const` variables. 2) Re-declaring `const` variables of page scripts is not allowed in REPL scripts. 3) Re-declearing `const` variables is not allowed in the same REPL script. 4) `const` re-declaration is allowed across separate REPL scripts. 5) Old references to previously declared variables get updated with the new value, even those references from within optimized functions. After updating our bots to use GCC 7.4, we do not need to support incomplete C++14 support any more. In particular, we can assume complete c++14 constexpr support now. This CL removes the V8_HAS_CXX14_CONSTEXPR and CONSTEXPR_DCHECK macros. The CONSTEXPR_DCHECKs are replaced by DCHECK and friend, or STATIC_ASSERT where possible. When a function is invoked by prototype.apply, it may undergo following transformation in the JSCallReducer: receiver.apply(this, args) -> this.receiver(...args) Since the new target (also the receiver of apply()) is not collected to the feedback slot, further speculative optimization on the new target is not available if the new target is not a heapconstant. With this CL, the receiver will be collected to the feedback instead of the target if the target is a prototype.apply. This API mirrors the form of the original C++ function based PromiseHook API, however it is intentionally separate to allow it to use JSFunctions triggered within generated code to, as much as possible, avoid entering runtime functions entirely. Because PromiseHook has internal use also, beyond just the Node.js use, I have opted to leave the existing API intact and keep this separate to avoid conflicting with any possible behaviour expectations of other API users. This CL teases the two uses apart by renaming IsolateRoot to PtrComprCageBase. - In addition to V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS, add a V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS_IN_ISOLATE_CAGE (vs SHARED_CAGE). - Rename GetIsolate* helpers to GetPtrComprCageBase. When V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS_IN_ISOLATE_CAGE is true, the helpers remain as aliases to GetPtrComprCageBase. - Rename kPtrComprIsolateRootAlignment to kPtrComprCageBaseAlignment. BREAKING CHANGE: The values of Wasm locals, stack, and globals are now represented as objects instead of holding the (primitive) values directly, and SIMD128 values are no longer represented as Uint8Arrays. The DWARF extension has been prepared for this breaking change. The new `WasmValue` comes with `type` and `value` properties that hold its contents. The motivation here is that this is a more extensible approach. In case of SIMD128, the `value` property holds the canonical string representation, which has the additional advantage that these values can be compared with `===` (and `==`). This partially reverts https://crrev.com/c/2614428, the main difference here being that WasmValue is now a proper JSObject that can be exposed on the DebugEvaluate proxy API.
