because it must not cause lazy deopts because it is called from deferred code that cannot handle lazy deopts. Hat tip to Ben for doing most of the debugging work, and to Toon for writing the regression test. The flag has been on in the build for ~9 months, and we aren't likely to turn it off. The only customer of the flag is a set of tests that want to verify transitioning behavior in isolation. This CL removes the flag and updates those tests to get what they want without the flag. The compiled_transitions flag was enabled for quite some time now and seems to work out quite well, so time has come to remove the obsolete code paths and remove the unused methods. The stub used to check the length of the JS array to see if there's a need to duplicate the elements backing store. This way it will not duplicate the elements array when going from double to object even if the elements array is not the empty fixed array. Later on it will then store pointers into a FixedDoubleArray. The native code stub used to check whether elements points to the empty_fixed_array singleton instead of testing the length. The Hydrogen stub does that as well now. Do not change environment between simulate and scope with no observable side-effects in HandlePropertyAssignment. LChunkBuilder reconstructs the environment by applying simulates. A scope with no observable side-effects has no simulates. If the scope deoptimizes, then LChunkBuilder would miss the changes to the environment between the last simulate and the scope. report the exception when they happen in the try block and not as previously when re-thrown after execution of the finally block. There is no longer any message generated by re-throw. Added test cases for various combinations of try/catch/finally with throw in different places. Added a regression directory to the messages tests which is processed by the test runner. Added regression tests for the specific bugs fixed. Runs all the test suites. In the shell sample don't print the result of executing a script, only evaluating expressions. Fixed issue when building samples on Windows using a shared V8 library. Added visibility option on Linux build which makes the generated library 18% smaller. Changed build system to accept multiple build modes in one build and generate seperate objects, libraries and executables for each mode. Removed deferred negation optimization (a * -b => -(a * b)) since this visibly changes operand conversion order. Improved parsing performance by introducing stack guard in preparsing. Without a stack guard preparsing always bails out with stack overflow. git-svn-id: http://v8.googlecode.com/svn/branches/bleeding_edge@16 ce2b1a6d-e550-0410-aec6-3dcde31c8c00
